On Saturday, October 27, nine parishioners prepared dinner at Ronald McDonald House for families whose children are at Children's Hospital in Detroit. Thank you to Labrini & Amalia Liakonis, Kathy Mellas, Kay & Anna Nicholas, Melissa & Amalia Pardales, Jeanne Savas and Kathy Sheiko for making beef brisket, greek salad, mashed potatoes, rice pilafi, roasted vegetables, spanakopita, cookies & brownies. Once again, all of the families we met were very appreciative for the home cooked meal we made for them.

There was a great turnout to prepare Spanakopita on Tuesday, Oct. 23, where we prepared a total of 217 pies! (Philoptochos President Kathy Mellas) "We would like to thank you all for your time and skillfulness to accomplish this in one day. Special thanks to the friends of members who came to help."

Members of our Saint George GOYA group met for some friendly dodgeball competition at the Assumption Church in St. Clair Shores, MI. Several parishes from the Metropolitan Detroit area participated. Many thanks to our GOYA parish advisors Melissa Pardales and Demetra Koukios who helped organize and provide transportation for the event.
