Father James has served as priest of the Saint George Church in Bloomfield Hills since July 2017. Prior to ordination, he worked full-time in the field of mental health after receiving a master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Tennessee. His theological training includes a master’s degree from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, a doctorate from Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University, post-doctoral work in clinical chaplaincy at Harvard Divinity School, and a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from the Brigham and Women's Hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. His wife, Julie Honeycutt, is a licensed professional counselor in private practice.
